God, in His infinite goodness and love, has created many varieties of  fruits and vegetables and packed them with essential vitamins, minerals and oils so that we may consume them and lead a healthy and fruitful life on this earth.  Eating colorful vegetables and fruits not only wards off host of diseases but also keeps from contracting diseases by strengthening our immune system.  A strong immune system means a healthy, long life.  Most of our immune system is present in our stomach area.  Eating wrong kind of foods weakens our immune system.  Now let us look at some popular vegetables and fruits and their unique compositions and benefits to us.

CARROTS:  — Carrots look like the pupil of an eye when cut crosswise. They contain carotenoids which the body uses to make visual purple, a chemical that the eyes use for night time vision.  So, eat your carrots – raw or cooked.

TOMATOES AND PEPPERS: — A tomato resembles a heart with four chambers and is red. All of the research shows tomatoes are loaded with lycopine and are indeed pure heart and blood food.  Eat them moderately.

CELERY AND RHUBARB: — Celery and Rhubarb look like bones. And they are good for bones. Bones are 23% sodium, and amazingly, celery and rhubarb contain 23% sodium.

AVOCADOES, PEARS  AND BRINJAL:  — Avocadoes. Pears  and Eggplants are similar in appearance to the human uterus.  Avocodoes are noted to balance women’s hormones and prevent cervical cancers.

FIGS: –  They resemble a human testes or testicles.  They contain nutrients that are known to increase sperm motility and sperm count.

SWEET POTATOES: — Sweet potatoes look like the pancreas and are known to balance the glycemic index of diabetics.

GRAPES: — Grapes hang in a cluster that has the shape of our heart. Each grape looks like a blood cell and they are good for our heart and blood.

GUAVA:  Now the scientists are saying that ‘a guava a day keeps the doctor away’.  That’s because it contains 500 times more antioxidants than pomegranate or any other fruit.  Eat this humble guava fruit and reap in the benefits.

KIDNEY BEANS: — Kidney Beans actually heal and help maintain kidney function and they look exactly like the human kidneys.

OLIVE: — Olives assist the health and function of the ovaries.  It protects our heart by controlling bad cholesterol and it helps the secretion of bile juice.

ORGANGES, GRAPEFRUITS (Citrus fruits): — They look just like the mammary glands of the female and actually assist the health of the breasts and the movement of lymph in and out of the breasts.

ONIONS: — Onions look like the body’s cells. Onions help clear waste materials from all of the body cells. They even produce tears which wash the epithelial layers of the eyes.

ONION SKINS: The outer layer of the onion skin is full of fiber and flavinoids, and the bulb, which we discard, contains sulphurus compounds.  Eating fiber cuts colon cancer, reduces the risk of diabetes and obesity.

BEETROOT: — It contains Vitamins – B3, 6, and C and plenty of iron, zinc, magnesium and calcium.  Eating beets removes toxins in our bladder and liver.

BANANA: — It contains tryptophan, a mood-regulating chemical that acts like an anti-depressant.  Whenever you feel down in the dumps, eat bananas.

MUSHROOM: — Reveals like a human ear when it is cut and believe it or not, it enhances our ability to hear clearly.  It contains an unique vitamin D that transmits sound to the brain.

BROCCOLI:  — Also known as Califlower. It resembles cancer cells. Eating broccoli prevents cancer from invading our body and destroying it.  Eat them cooked or steamed.

GINGER: — In its natural form looks just our stomach stomach and it cures and prevents stomach-related diseases.  It cleans our intestines and aids in digestion.

CHEESE: — Resembles a bone when sliced.  Packed with calcium, it makes our bones stronger and reduces osteoporosis.  A mineral called phosphate gives strength to our bones and stops early ossification of  bones.  Also, lack of calcium in our diet causes nervousness.

WALNUTS:  — A Walnut looks like a little brain (left and right hemisphere, upper cerebrums and lower cerebellums).  It helps develop more than three dozen neuron-transmitters for brain function. Crush 3-4 walnuts and consume them daily with honey or ghee.
